The goal of Community Health Evangelism (C.H.E.) is to facilitate a development ministry whose purpose is to equip believers to respond to the Great Commission. This is accomplished through training men and women to be Community Health Evangelists/Educators (C.H.E.s). CHE Training covers physical topics such as water purification, sanitation, agriculture, nutrition, maternal and child care, home care and treatment of basic diseases (ie; diarrhea, worms, malaria, HIV/AIDS, etc.). The program also includes training in personal evangelism, discipleship training, Bible study, teaching skills and demonstrations of appropriate technology.
CHEs model and share physical and spiritual teaching with their neighbors in the home setting. They treat basic health problems and facilitate health-related projects in the community. Emphasis is placed on transformation through Christ, disease prevention and health promotion. The program is designed to be easily transferred, multiplied and sustained.
