New Life Center Zambia - A ministry of the United Methodist Church

Dear Faithful Supporters and Friends,

It has been quite a long time since our last update and many things have been taking place. It is amazing how quickly time is passing right now! Maybe it’s just because we have so many things going on that keep us moving each day.

Our two containers of supplies for the PET ministry finally arrived. The first one from China with many of the main supplies; such as tires, steel, nuts, bolts, and chain, arrived on July 16th. After unloading and getting everything ready we were able to begin production of PETs again after a 7-month shutdown because of lack of supplies. All of us were very happy about that and we have continued to produce 50 PETs each month. We have also had several distributions and it is always a joy to see mobility being restored to the disabled people after being dependent on others for their whole lives! It was especially wonderful to see one of the recipients come to us in a wheelbarrow and leave on her own strength Our second container from the USA showed up in September with the additional supplies needed for PETs, fully completed PETs from our affiliates, PET Tampa and PET Penney Farms, and additional supplies needed for the Preschool ministry for the ED Project. We are now fully functioning again. In our efforts to not have a shutdown in production again, we plan to place a yearly order for supplies from China. As we fine-tune the ordering process we hope to get everything we need all in one shipment. Our affiliates of PET Tampa and PET Brazos from Texas are planning to send more containers of fully completed PETs in 2019. We are excited to be able to work together for the good of the disabled in Zambia and the surrounding countries.

The annual Youth Camp was also held at the New Life Center in August. There were about 250 youth from all over Zambia that participated this year. It was a great time of fellowship, listening, and learning with a jammed packed program of speakers. The youth went away with much to ponder and put into practice for the coming year. We are very proud of the way our youth are taking up the challenge to be men and women of God in their everyday lives. It is always a joy to be with them and see the energy they have to change their world.

We have been busy working on updating our web site over the last year. Ken Dold, from Aloma United Methodist Church, has done an excellent job on designing and transferring all of our information from our old web site to a new and updated version of it. There is still a lot of work to do on it, but it is finally looking more like we want it to. Check it out at Unfortunately it looks like we have lost quite a few email addresses on our newsletter update list. If you get this email, you are on the list! We will be sending out another email soon to our entire email list to make sure everyone has the chance to get our updates. Please ignore that email since you are already on our list. Thank you for your continued interest and support for the ministries of the New Life Center!

There are many more things taking place daily in regards to education, but that will have to be in another update. Stay tuned for more information! You can follow us on Facebook at New Life Center Zambia for quick updates.

In the meantime, please continue to keep Delbert in your prayers for a complete restoration to health. It has been a difficult year for him, but God is faithful to give us all that we need to be able to do the work He has called us to do; tell others the Good News of Jesus Christ.

We thank you for your part in keeping the ministries of the New Life Center going on a daily basis. You are a vital part of our work in Zambia and we appreciate all that you do for others! May God continue to greatly bless each of you.

Faithfully serving Jesus,

Sandy and Delbert Groves
