Burdens

Carrying things on your head is a very typical scene in Zambia. The items in this picture are very light because they are empty cooking oil containers. I have seen items ranging from water, food, shoes, and even large tree trunks being carried on people’s heads.

We carry many burdens ourselves. Maybe not on our heads where everyone can see them, but our burdens are with us just the same. Some of them are very light and we feel like we can carry them ourselves, but what about the heavy ones that we are unable to carry? We are told in Psalm 68:19, Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. I pray that each of us are able to claim this promise daily.
