We had just returned to Zambia after a long home assignment and were feeling like we were not really ready to jump back into ministry. We were going through jet lag, missing our children and grandchildren and also missing our parents, family and friends. We had left a lot of loved ones behind and we were just not wanting to really be here. God knows us better than we know ourselves and He sent 120 ministering angels to help us adjust! We received such encouragement from these 120 letters written by middle schoolers during a mission study at summer camp. WOW! After reading each of those letters we are now ready for anything that God has in store for us. Thank you Warren W. Willis United Methodist Camp for the many prayers and letters of encouragement. God has used each of you mightily.
I once heard in a sermon that our mission in life is found in Hebrews 10:24-25. It says, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another -and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” May you be encouraged to be in mission where ever God has you, just as we have been encouraged to be in mission in Zambia.
