New Life Center Zambia - A ministry of the United Methodist Church
2013 Summer Months Update # 4

I told you we were busy over the summer.... Just before Marsha and Jean were about to return to Florida, Dennis and Linda McLain, along with board members, Laura Early and Patricia Barkess, of the GoodWill Community Foundation (GCF) out of Raleigh, NC came for a visit too. A lot of people don’t know that GoodWill was started by the United Methodist Church in the beginning. Dennis McLain is also an ordained Elder in the UMC. We are so thankful that GCF has stood with us over the years in partnering with the PET Zambia outreach. It goes without saying, we could not have expanded to a full production facility without their help. They have given funds for most of the tools, equipment and vehicles, and help with the production and distribution costs. As we have found the need to expand PET Zambia they have even invested funds to help build the New PET workshop! It’s our goal to double production within the next two years. Their efforts to help us establish a fully functioning workshop make it possible for the New Life Center, and those who sponsors PETs (that’s you), to reach out to the disabled people in Zambia and the eight countries that surround us. Along with their deep interest in helping people with disabilities, they are also deeply concerned with developmental education for underprivileged people. They help with the Computer School training and the After School Tutoring Lessons. They even have FREE online courses at www.GCFLearnFree.org. They try to come to Zambia each year and visit with the students and give out PETs to those in need. The GoodWill Community Foundation is truly a global organization. We can only say thank you for their partnership! Thousands of lives have been changed and people empowered for the future because of GCF. They are not just a foundation doing good, they are family, personally involved in every way they can!
