This Sunday morning we leave out of Tampa International Airport! Our time in the USA, as always, has been filled with great joy and memories we’ll keep for the rest of our lives.
It’s interesting that, as we get older, every little moment of seeing an old friend or family member or birthday – holiday gathering, means so much more to you. As we visited partnering church’s there was a real sense of fellowship and history being made. We visited one church, in Tracy, Minnesota, that has been partnering with the ministry for over 20 years. They helped our ministry back then with a farming tractor that was shipped to Zaire, Africa. Leroy Johnson, who owned the tractor and worked with the Tracy UMC, was there with a newspaper article about the event from 20 years ago (The article is below). That tractor has done so much good for the kingdom of God and is still being used to this very day.
We had such a wonderful time traveling and sharing what God is doing in Zambia. It is always a joy talking about how the United Methodist Church is growing. We don’t believe the ministry is just in Zambia, but it’s with everyone that takes part in ministry wherever they are. Our time of sharing with you has been very important and keeps us all focused on the call God has for each of us that put our faith in Christ Jesus….Amen. We want to say a big THANK YOU to all the churches we visited this time back. There is no way for us to express how grateful we are for how well all of you took care of us. We couldn’t have accomplished all that has been done in Zambia (or Zaire/DR Congo!) without your faithful prayers and support.
We will ask that you keep the month of April in your prayers. We will be holding the annual Holy Spirit Encounter gathering at the New Life Center. There will be hundreds of pastors and church leaders there. This year Rev. Blake Lorenz, from Orlando, FL & Rev. Scott George, from Orlando FL & Rev. Ken Suckling, from Zambia will be our special guest speakers. After the HSE we will be driving (African roads) to Malawi to hold a large three-day open air Crusade and distribute a truck load of PET bikes to the disabled. There is no doubt in my mind that hundreds of people will find Christ as Lord and Savior and be set free from unthinkable strongholds of African life. Please – please pray for these events and travel time….DAILY.
